Chili Fundraiser

Ben ended up having to go to Wisconsin this week for work a little unexpectedly so he headed out Wednesday and got back Saturday afternoon.

Friday night was our Relay For Life Chili Supper Fundraiser. Had no idea how it was going to go but we raised about $1000! We were really happy with that!

Susan ran Bean out to Aunt Sharon's and she kept her while I was doing the chili supper. They both seemed to survive each other well!

Bean and I had a somewhat lazy Saturday morning. Had some nutella and waffles and she loves her nutella!

Bean went to stay with mom Saturday am while Susan and I went to a Russellville Relay for Life fundraiser, a Zumba marathon. 3 hours of Zumba, although we just stayed for 70 minutes or so.

A quick trip to Walmart and back home to get Bean. I spent the afternoon cleaning while Bean napped.

I whipped out the sewing machine to try my hand at a pillowcase dress. Since Walmart didn't have fabric I decided to try with a tee shirt. I really shouldn't have tried knit, too hard for a novice, but from a distance its cute, even close up its not that bad! A little long ; )

Ben got home around 4:30 and we had fish for dinner.

A lazy Sunday morning together, a ride for Bean in the Ranger and Ben went and got his new project. Grandaddy's Super C that he's going to restore.

Bean and I went krogering and that's about it for our weekend!

Few more pictures of Bean!

Valentine's & Farm Show!

Happy Valentine's everyone!  And Happy Birthday to Mom!!  And Happy National Farm Machinery Show Week!  And while we are at it, Not-so-happy admittal to the hospital day!

Needless to say, there was a lot going on this week!

Ben headed out Monday am to go back to Louisville and finish setting up for the National Farm Machinery Show.  We missed last year with Mallory being sick and Tucker havng eye surgery, so this is to be her first Farm Show!

We will start with a quick Happy Valentine's to Daddy picture we emailed off to Ben the morning of the 14th! Loving the fact that my new iPhone has a dual camera so you can take picutes of yourself fairly easy!

Mallory got several things for Valentine's day but here's a picture of her and the "kissy" Elmo that Aunt Sharon got her.

Tucker spent his first nights away down here at the Pet Lodge in Hopkinsville.  After some research on Facebook regarding the best in the general area, it got the best reviews.  But, before he could be boarded he needed his bordatella updated, so here he is waiting at the vet's office, which of course was in Russellville : /

Mallory and I headed to Louisville after Zumba on Thursday.  I wanted to go up at night so she would sleep most of the way and it worked well.  We arrived around 10 pm Central, and she went back to sleep pretty easily in her pack and play that Ben already had set up when we arrived.

She was up early and ready to go Friday morning!  Put my boots on and grabbed a tractor pull ticket.  This girl knew what the Farm Show was all about : )

She had a ball at the farm show and overall was really good.  Mom and Dad met us there late morning on Friday.  Here's a few pictures from the show on Friday.  She LOVES "driving" the side-by-sides!

Friday night we didn't get quite as early start to dinner as I was hoping because Ben had to stay at the show until 6 pm eastern and then fight the traffic to get back to the hotel.  By the time we left with Mom and Dad it was already later than we wanted and waits were looking too be 1.5 hours.  Wasn't going to work with a hungry munchkin, so we opted for Moe's.  It worked.  Nothing fancy, just what I call the Subway of Mexican food.

Back to the room and Bean and I laid in bed an konked out.  I was tired after 8 hours of walking around the trade show and pushing a stroller!

Unfortunatley Ben got sick in the middle of the night Friday night.  We don't know yet if it was something he ate or a stomach bug, we will pray for the first, but he spent way too much time going back and forth from the bed to the bathroom : (

He stayed in bed Saturday instead of working the last day of the show.  Dad went back over for the morning and Bean, Mom and I went shopping.

We hit up Oxmore first and got some various stuff for Bean at Pottery Barn Kids and some crazy salon type place for kids.  Did get some cute hair bows.  Bean was being a bit crabby, but we managed.

We wrapped up there and then went over to St. Matthews.  Got through one store, Ann Taylor Loft, where thankfully I found some shirts, because I think an all out meltdown was about to ensue.  We made our way over to the food court to hit up Chick-Fil-A.  Their big cow character was visiting that day and for Mallory, it was love at first sight.  We went over and took a few pictures and then sat down to eat, but noooooo, that was not enough for Mallory.  She wouldn't eat anything and finally escaped her stroller and ran over to the cow, attatched herself to it's leg with a death grip hug, totally cut in front of some others and would not let go until SHE was ready.  Finallly she let go and only then would eat.  By this point we'd all had about as much as we could stand so the rest of us ate in the car back to the hotel to check on Ben.

He was slightly better so since Mom and Dad were not staying a second night anyway we decided to let Mallory go home with Mom and for Dad to drive my vehicle and then I would pack up our crap and drive Ben home in his truck.  Thankfully he hasn't been "sick" since we left Louisville.  He made it home ok, crashed out the rest of the day and night.  We had Bean stay with mom and dad Saturday night just to make sure she stayed away if it was a bug.  Guess we will see in a couple more days if I get it or not.  Crossing fingers for not!

Sunday I got up and went and got Bean, headed to Hopkinsville to grab some groceries and pick up Tucker.  I must say Sunday morning around 10 am is a fairly pleasant time to shop at Walmart, if it's possible to EVER be pleasant.

We picked up Tuck and headed home.  Thankfully Ben is feeling much better today and I got to do some cleaning and cooked a big pot of stew for dinner.

Bean got some Elmo bath fizzies at Walmart that turn the tub colors.  Tonight's bath was brought to you by the color blue!

A Fun Weekend!!

Greetings friends and family!!

It's been a busy week.

Monday - I did a presentation to an Ag Class at one of the Community Colleges about careers in Agriculture.  Then I made a mad dash over to Owensboro to finish getting the house in order so it could go on the market on Tuesday.  Then a mad dash back home to Elkton to get Bean and go to Bed.  Ben was in Racine Sunday through Wednesday.

I started not feeling great on Tuesday and Mallory wasn't feeling great on Wednesday so we both crashed at home.  Then Thursday we had to be home as well, so it wasn't a great week to get much accomplished at work.  Back to the grind Friday but then I had a Board of Directors meeting on Friday at lunch, so that killed several hours as well.

Ben was home Wednesday night and then had to turn around and leave for Louisville on Friday to start setting up for the National Farm Machinery Show.  But, surprise to all of us, after being up there for a few hours they decided they didn't need as many people as they had so he came back home Friday night.

Now he's not feeling great, tonsilitis or something along that lines.  He went to urgent care on Saturday, or Elkton's version of Urgent Care, and got some meds.  I worked on cleaning the house and doing dishes.  We had a lazy afternoon and fixed a big breakfast for dinner Saturday night.  We got up early on Sunday and headed to Nashville to go to the National Wild Turkey Federation Expo.  We haven't been able to go the past 2 years, so it was fun to get to go back.

Mallory had a ball, here's some pictures of her at the expo.  They had a big blow up "cave" that you could go through for the kids and they gave you flashlights.  It was really fun, Mallory had to go through twice, once with me and then with Ben!!

Then we headed over to the boot store to see about Ben some pants.  No luck with pants but I found what I'm considering my Valentine's Present, some new boots!  Ben got a shirt and I think that since Mallory is so in love with this purple stick horse from the store, that's what I need to get her for Valentines Day!

Then we met ALL the family in Elkton to go out to eat for Mom's birthday, which is Wednesday.

Today, the 13th, is the day 2 years ago when I found out I was leaking amnionic fluid and found myself in an ambulance on the way to Louisville hoping my bean was not going to be born this early.

7 weeks in the hospital and Mallory was still 7 weeks early and then 5 weeks in the NICU.  It was a long 3 months in Louisville.  So, we are Marching for Babies again this year, Team Butterbean wants to be well represented, so be sure to make a donation to Team Butterbean!!

Happy Valentines Day ya'll!  And Happy Birthday to Mom on Wednesday.

Bean and I are headed up to Louisville on Thursday night to meet up with Ben for the Farm Show!!

Exhausted!

Wow, getting a house ready to sell is hard work!  Especially for someone who is not into details and does not like to clean.  sigh.  It will all be worth it and I think I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We went up Saturday early to spend the day doing the final stuff.  Bean stayed with Mom and Dad so Ben and I could focus.  It's a good thing, we worked our butts off and still didn't finish.  We literally worked from like 9:30 am until 11 pm Saturday and I was exhausted, as was Ben.  We just decided to stay the night there because we STILL were NOT finished!

Painting, putting up trim, cleaning, moving stuff around, it never ends.  And since Ben somehow has lost my Dyson (don't ask, sore subject) I couldn't finish the cleaning part so I will have to finish that up Monday afternoon.  We had to get back fairly early on Sunday so he could pack and get ready to fly to Racine Sunday night DURING THE SUPERBOWL!

We finished putting up a few new light fixtures we've had forever and just never put up and some final trim that we could do and called it a day and we are going to let handyman John finish the rest.

Ben jetted off to Racine for a lovely 3 days of meetings, I became a lethargic lump on the recliner while Mallory napped and then we headed to Mom and Dad's for the superbowl.

Here's a few pictures from the evening there.  I'll take pictures of the house once I've finished cleaning everything.

Later!
