10530 is ALMOST for sale!

We've been working hard getting the house ready to put on the market.

The goal day is Monday Feb 5th, so we've been busting our butts getting it ready.

It always sucks that you finally do all the stuff that you've wanted to do for the past 3 1/2 years AFTER you move out. Oh well.

We are hoping to wrap things up this weekend.

We spent this past Saturday up there and Sunday I got a day home so I could FINALLY go grocery shopping!

Bean has what we believe to be her first 2 word sentence, or 3 words depending on how you count contractions, she's saying what we believe to be "what's that?" Its so funny. She babbles all the time, just not alway sure what she's saying!!

I've started the initial planning of her Elmo themed 2nd birthday party. Her cutsie "elmo" dress has been ordered from Etsy : )

I've also started up fundraising efforts for Team Butterbean's March for Babies Team. If you'd like to just donate direct, you can do so at our team page here:   http://www.marchforbabies.org/s_team_page.asp?seid=1708848

Our first fundraiser will be a Virtual 5K, the Prematurity Sucks Virtual 5K, and you can register for that here: http://teambutterbean.wordpress.com/prematurity-sucky-virtual-5k-registration/

We've got lots of great sponsors with awesome prizes for our participants!!

Not going to ramble too much more, too tired tonight after putting up the rest of the paintable wallpaper today, so here's a couple pictures : )

Working on the house

It's been a busy week.

We spent this past weekend in Owensboro working on the house, getting it ready to sell. Of course, we can never just move out and it be ready to sell!

Friday night was daddy-daughter time while I went to play Bunco with the girls. I had fun, Bean and Ben had a good time, Stefanie and I almost got struck by lightening, but other than that, it was a good evening.

Lots of stuff accomplished at Utica. Even have someone who might be interested in the house. Not holding my breathe, but we will see!

Otherwise just getting settled into life in Elkton. I'm putting together some fun March of Dimes fundraisers and our Bunco group is having fundraisers for Relay for Life.

Here's a few pictures!

Running Full Steam Ahead

Running full steam ahead

That’s Mallory, she loves to RUN everywhere now! Run, climb, over and under and through and you get the picture. She’s very active to say the least!

Ben was in Racine, WI all this week and Bean, Tucker and I held down the fort. My wounds are healing from breaking into the fort.

Friday Bean and I braved the snow from Thursday night (which wasn’t much but the side roads were still snow covered Friday am) and drove up the parkway to Owensboro. She stayed with Mrs Carole and had a ball seeing all her old friends and a few new ones.

I on the other hand did not have a ball packing up my office. It wasn’t that bad, but packing in general sucks, especially when you’ve got to pack all the boxes and trash down from the 2nd floor, up and down and up and down. At least it was a workout!

I got all I could fit in my vehicle and then went to meet our Realtor so we could discuss getting the house on the market. So we got that sorted through and by then it was almost 4:30 and time to go get Mallory!

Ben was flying home Friday afternoon late, his parents were headed to Elkton to stay with us for the weekend and Bean and I were heading back home. Somehow the two of us beat everyone else home!

We had a fairly low key weekend. We all trekked back up to Owensboro on Saturday morning because I couldn’t fit all the office chairs in my vehicle and we needed the truck. Here's Ben taking down the sign at my Owensboro office:

We went to the local shoe store for Ben to look at work boots and Bean had fun in there little Richard Scary kid ride : )

Then back to Elkton and a stop at the Soda Shop for Susan and Bud to try it out. We decided to take them to the Black Horse Pub Saturday night, our favorite place, the wait was a little long but the food was yummy as always and of course the Vanilla Pale Ale was AMAZING. I wish I had a tap of that in my house : )

Sunday was church and just laying around the rest of the afternoon. Ben’s parents left Monday morning and we settled back into our normal routine.

Here’s a few other pictures of Bean with the new Case IH stocking hat Ben got her and with her key rings, I called her the Janitor as much as she likes packing around those key rings!!

Days with Tiffany

Last week while I was away I had Tiffany, who now keeps Mallory, put pictures on Facebook every day for me so I could see little munchkin.

I forgot to post them in the last week blog post, so I'll just stick them in here.

Tiffany, you can post pictures of Mallory as often as you want : )

A Week Away

Mallory is of the age now that she nows and notices when you are gone.  It may be just 30 seconds of crying when you drop her off at the sitter or wherever, but it just makes it that much harder to leave!

This week I was off to Orlando.  Before you're all like ooohh fun, no not really.  I was there for a National Potato Expo, yes like the potatoes you eat.

I flew out Tuesday, Southwest this time not Delta!!  Left Nashville direct to Orlando, a normal flight thankfully!

I was at the Lowes Pacific Resort or something like that.  It was a nice resort hotel, part of the Universal Sudios hotels.

The trade show was Wednsday through Friday and I don't think I took a single picture while there.  Mom and Ben kept up with Mallory during my time away.  Ben said Thursday night Mallory was sitting looking at the door saying momma, momma.  : (  Made me miss them that much more!

I got back Friday afternoon late and was quite happy to be home!

Saturday we had Zaylei's 5th birthday party.  Stef had it at the gymnastic studio in town, same place we do Zumba, and they had a ball.  Mallory ran and played and climbed and I just tried to keep up with her.  Here's some pictures from the party.

Ben had to leave Sunday afternoon to catch a plane to go up to Racine for the week. I'm gone one week, he's gone the next! So Mallory and I went grocery shopping after Ben left. I ended up successfully locking myself out of the house Sunday night....lets just say we've fixed it so it's not somewhere someone's easily going to be able to get into. I need a better back up plan in case that happens again. Tucker and I were stuck outside with my shoes, phone, keys and Mallory all on the inside. I got in, it wasn't pretty, but I got in.

Hope everyone has a good week. I should get my office cleaned out and turned over on Friday and we are going to work on the house in Utica this weekend so it will be ready to get on the market asap.

Happy New Year 2012

We've had a pretty low key week coming off the Christmas high.

Feeling pretty well settled here in Elkton now. Dad and Ben picked up our fridge on Thursday and I finally got our pantry stuff put away.

I forgot to mention it earlier but we finally turned Mallory's car seat around. Little miss long legs was very uncomfortable and unhappy. I think the rule of thumb is 2 years now, it just changed from 1 year, so I think we did pretty well. There was a big part of me that wanted to wait, but she was throwing a fit everytime we put her in the car!

I've acquired some kind of lovely cold, so I've been pretty puny all weekend. Yesterday it was nice and warm on the sun porch so Mallory played on her slide!

As tradition for New Year's Day, mom fixed black eyed peas for lunch along with macaroni, salmon croquets and apple salad. Someone was crazy about the Mac and cheese!

Happy New Year everyone!!

I'm off to Orlando next week for a trade show, too bad I will not get to enjoy all Orlando has to offer.

Also, if you missed the link on Facebook, you've got to check out Mallory's latest video on YouTube!

Christmas 2011

Let me start by saying, I don't advise moving the weekend before Christmas.  Although we had a great Christmas and Mallory had a ball, it just never seemed quite like Christmas.  Probably because I never put up a tree.  I just figured that by the time I felt semi unpacked it was, oh the 22nd and we were leaving the next day for Sikeston, why bother.

So, we enjoyed both Grandmother's trees, Memaw's tree and the tree at the Nursing Home when we went to see Grandma Lilly.  So, it's not like we were in short supply of tree's, just never got in that really festive spirit.  Heck, it was almost 60 degrees here on Christmas Day, that didn't help either!

So, I'll give you the quick basics on the holiday and then let you look at the crazy number of fun pictures.

Friday - off to Sikeston, small gathering at Ben's parent's Friday night
Saturday - off to Perryville to the Nursing Home to see Grandma Lilly, lunch at Pasta House where we learned Mallory likes to eat marinara by the handful.  Christmas Eve service and Lasagna for dinner.
Sunday (Christmas morning) -  had a yummy breakfast, opened presents, went to Church, had a quick lunch, drove to Elkton, dropped of the dog and headed to Memaw's for Christmas night.  Ate, opened presents.
Monday - went on a shopping quest for a Refrigerator, found one on sale, went to Mom and Dad's for Christmas there, grazed on goodies and opened more presents.

We all got way more than any of us needed and Mallory pretty much hit the mother load.  Thanks to everyone!  Now, enjoy the pictures of Mallory's 2nd Christmas!
