First Few Days and First Dr's Appointment

Things are going well here on the home front. Mallory had no trouble making herself right at home and we are all adjusting, but it hasn't been too bad. Tucker is having the biggest adjustment, we are taking it slow with him, but he's doing ok.

We moved up to letting him wander freely in the living room last night when I was either holding her or she was in her stroller, and he did fine. Just likes to sniff her a lot. He seems to be more jealous of Ben being around her than me!!

I don't trust him just yet of him being around her in her swing since that's right at his height, but we are making progress.

At night she is sleeping in the pack and play infant sleeper by the bed, so we've put Tucker's bed in the master bathroom and put up the baby gate so he doesn't have free reign of the bedroom with her in there but I think in the next night or too he will be ok. I just wanted him to be able to hear her but not get too close at first.

I think he will be fine, and I'm probably being too cautious, but then again, you can never be too cautious!

Mom left yesterday afteroon and it was great having her here just to keep an eye on Mallory while I did some things around the house, run into town, and just get some rest for me. And of course she loved the opportunity to just sit and hold Mallory!

Today was our first trip out in the car just her and I, we had her first Doctors Appointment. Tiff had gotten me the car seat/head rest mirror, which is great, so I put that up so I could keep an eye on her in the rear view mirror. She loves to ride, so there were no issues. So I figured out how to pack everything up, the monitor fit in her diaper bag and then her in her carseat...it all worked out pretty well that way.

Our appointmet was at 9:15 and I wanted to make sure I had plenty of time to find it, drive slower than normal, get there early to fill out the paperwork, etc. I got there at 8:30 which was great exept I didn't know the office didn't even open until 9 am. So we sat in the foryer area until they finally opened the office...coulda fixed my hair other than a pony tail if I'd known that, oh well.

We saw Dr. Phillips for our weigh in. I really like him, he was referred by a friend and he's a younger doctor and seems to do well, make sure I had time to ask questions, etc.

Little Bean is up to 6 pounds even and 19 inches long! She's doing great. As Dr. Phillips said, if you didn't know, you wouldn't think she was a preemie to see her. She's growing like a little weed. And although we made sure her diaper was clean when we left home, she made sure to give Dr Phillips a little surprise for the appointment!

So it's just her and I at home today. So far so good.

Here's a few pictures from the past couple days and one of her right after her first bath, which she wasn't too thrilled with!
