To start, on Thursday night, I decided to try to give Bean some Rice Cereal/Formula slurry by spoon and see what she would do. It was rather comical some of the looks on her face! She didn't eat too much, but it was good to just get her used to the idea of eating via spoon in mouth as opposed to bottle. We did it again tonight and she took to it much better, so much that she even grabbed the spoon out of my hand and shoved it in her own mouth! Here's some pictures from this past Thursday and our first feeding attempt:
I also think she's on quite the little growing spurt, more up than out. I've noticed in several of her sleepers she's really pushing as to if they fit anymore and I noticed really just this week that her little feet are now to the end of her infant seat carrier and she can push against the seat...which she seems to enjoy.
Friday night we headed to Elkton because I was to run the Elkton 5K as my "trial" 5K before my Susan B Komen Race for the Cure this coming Saturday. I figured fewer participants to embarrass myself in front of. There's a whole blog post on my race HERE on my New Momma Jogger blog site, so you can read all the specifics there and pictures. I met my goals of finishing under 40 minutes (which is a horribly slow goal by the way) and finishing without walking, so I was happy for both of those.
ITS ALSO NOT TOO LATE TO MAKE A DONATION FOR MY RACE FOR THE CURE ON SEPT 25, HINT HINT. The link is to the top right of my blog. And a Big THANK YOU, to those who have already donated!!
Mom brought Mallory to the race so they could be there as we finished, here's a picture of Bean in her jogging stroller:
Mallory likes to make herself right at home at Mom and Dad's....here's a few pictures proving that....even controlling the remote already, LOL!
Susan and I finally started our Barn Quilt for Dad's tobacco barn. We had been wanting to do one of those quilt squares to put on the barn for a while and finally decided to just do it. I'm going to do a totally separate blog post outlining everything, but in a book Aunt Brenda had sent to mom we found the pattern called "Farmers Daughter" and we thought that was very appropriate so we pretty much completed everything this weekend. Susan was going to put the sealant/protector on it this evening, but here's a picture of the completed project...can't wait to get it up on the barn!!
Dad and Ben worked on the farm all weekend and Ben was able to sneak in a morning of Deer Hunting. Here's some pictures of Ben manning the combine.
I'm ready for what I hope to be a quiet but productive week and get prepared for the race on Saturday!!
