First Steps X 2

It was Tuesday evening, the 26th of July, Ben was out of town, and Mallory took her first steps!

They were tiny, just a couple from the coffee table over to me on the ottoman but they were full fledged, no holding onto anything, steps!!

I picked her up, gave her a huge hug, I’m pretty sure I was squealing with happiness and I think I scared her to death with all that and she will probably never do it again, lol!

At least she hasn’t done it again for me yet.

So that covers First Steps #1.

When we went to the Dr for her 15 month appointment Dr Phillips was a little concerned that she wasn’t walking yet so to be proactive, he recommended that we get her evaluated by First Steps. They are with the Health Department and work with all kids that may be lagging behind a little bit to just do an in home evaluation of their skills for their age and then if they qualify they can get the type of therapy they need.

So when I filled out the questionnaire regarding what she can and can’t do, she was borderline on whether or not she would qualify for services, but we will have her evaluated just to see.

So I met with First Steps today to get the mound of paperwork involved with any government agency filled out and then the lady who will do her evaluation will call me to set that up for sometime in the next couple of weeks.

The lady today said she thought Mallory would be borderline if she would qualify, especially if she did take her first steps, but we will see what the evaluator says.

So it’s been a busy week with First Steps!

Here’s a few pictures from the past week!
