Family Photos & The Color Run!

I'm sure by now you've seen some of the pictures from our session with Ashton, I loved them : )

Here's all of them if you are interested:  http://mallorywernerphotosforsharing.shutterfly.com/pictures/1753

Talk about catching Mallory's essence and personality!  Some of those just scream Mallory!!

I was resigned to doing my long run on Saturday, but it worked out, Mallory and I got 8 miles in.  That's the longest I've ever pushed her.  She said "home" over and over again for the last 1.5 miles, she was ready to be done : )

It was a good run around town and I felt good afterwards.

Once we got home we got ready and headed over to Nashville to pick up our packets for the Color Run that we were doing on Sunday.  I knew it sold out quick, there's 5 of us that are doing it, but I didn't realize that it was 15,000 people sell out quick!  Here's my outfit for the run : )

We got our packet and then ran over to Opry Mills for a few things and then back home in time to watch 2016 at Mom and Dad's.  We'd all been wanting to see it and it was on Dish pay per view.

Let's just say I'm hoping, praying, fingers crossed, doing all I can to get a Romney win on Election Day.  Obama must go.  I know a lot of people don't like Romney because of what they feel are his stances on Women's rights, well my opinion is that if the country is left in Economic Ruin because of Obama then your ability to decide yourself on abortion or not is pretty minor as I feel other "women" issues are.  I mean really, I feel like our Economy should trump about anything else.  Well that and Foreign Policy which might as well be a joke right now with our current leadership.

Off my soap box.

Sunday I got up bright and early and met up with Susan and Catherine (a local friend) and we headed to Nashville, tutu's in tow : )

We then met up with Amy and Lexi, got a couple group shots and then proceeded to wait in line with the 15,000 other people to run 3.1 miles through down town Nashville and get doused with various colored powder (corn starch) along the way.

It was a blast!  Just something you do for fun, it wasn't even timed, the goal was to get as much color on you as you could at each station.  I think we did a pretty good job : )

I was doing good until at the end in the "pit" where everyone throws up the color packets they give you, it's like a cloud of dust, breathing that in made my head hurt for a few hours afterwards, but overall it was a lot of fun : )

Ben kept Bean at home for me, there were a lot of kids there but they made you pay for their "entry" into the race too, so I didn't really see the need for her to do one yet.  Maybe later.

I have officially caught up with all of your posts! You are much much faster than me, but maybe we could plan a family weekend in St. Louis in the spring around a 5K (or maybe if I just walk it, a 10K). Since Scott will be coaching KU Rugby next spring, maybe there will be a game in St.Louis...a visit with running and rugby...sounds like fun!

That sounds like soemthing we will have to shoot for. I love traveling around running, lol. Ben not so much but you know.... I try to blog once a week, it is essentially my baby book, my details on Mallory growing up and I can actually have the blog converted into a book, which I've done for her year 1, just need to do the rest!
