Pool Time and Memorial Day Weekend!

Yay for the long weekend!
We spent lots of time (with lots of sunscreen) at the pool this long weekend.
It was our first weekend at the Elk Fork Country Club, where I grew up going to the pool, as did Mom.
It hasn't changed much, but it's a good size pool, there's normally someone around for the kiddos to play with and it's never too crowded.
So we spent Friday afternoon late, Saturday, and Sunday there.  Monday we went over to Jarrod's (a good friend from college who lives about 15 miles away) house with his wife Traci and their 2 kiddos and swam in their pool!
Swimming makes for long naps and good nights sleep for Bean!
Ben and Nick played 9 holes of golf Sunday afternoon, so overall we had a good and relaxing weekend.
I have a few pictures below.
One day soon I should be able to make a post saying we've closed on this house, close, but not yet.  Hopefully tomorrow.  Grrrrr.  It's driving me nuts!

Swimming is hard work, must refuel!

Getting Closer!

We are getting closer and closer to having this house sold!

Ben and I went back up Saturday am to get the final stuff, vacuum and say fair well!

Didn't take long! Other than dropping off the garage door opener and couple extra keys, we are done!!

Looks like we may close this coming Friday!!!!

I spent this weekend cleaning and organizing so I can spend ALL of next weekend at the pool with Bean and Sue!

In other news, I'm running another half marathon, in December, in Memphis, where it's FLAT!! Yippee!

Here's some pictures:

Mother's Day Weekend and a Move

Mother’s Day Weekend and a Move

I’m afraid Mother’s Day weekend pretty much was overshadowed
by the need to get everything out of our house this weekend.

The appraisal came back good, so back to the back to
underwriting again and we should close late this week or early next week.  I am SO ready to close.

But that means all the crap that we left in the house needs
to be removed because we set it up so they could take possession at the
closing.

Friday Ben and I went up and loaded boxes and as much of
anything else that we could.

We came back to Elkton in time for the 5K I had registered
for sometime ago.  It was at 5:30
PM.  Susan and I did it while pushing M
in the stroller in 37:07.  Improving, I
still want to be under 35 minutes soon.

Here’s a few pictures of that.

Saturday Ben, myself, Mallory, Mom and Susan headed back to
Utica and Bud and Susan met us there as well.
So we spent ALL DAY loading up the rest of our crap, another full semi
load full.  We have a lot of stuff that
we need to get rid of.

We came home Saturday night and crashed.  Sunday it was church and then Bud and Susan
headed back to Sikeston, so it just wasn’t much of a fun Mother’s day for any
of the mother’s in our immediate family.
I need to figure out how to best make that up to everyone!

Sunday night we went over to Aunt Sharon’s for a Mother’s
Day dinner there which was nice.  We took
a few pictures and here’s some of those.

Fingers crossed we get this house scheduled for closing
asap!!

Slacking

Sorry I've been slacking lately in posting, trying to get everything finished up with the house has just been eating into time.
I'm still waiting on the appraisal to come back on our house in Utica and as long as that's fine (fingers, toes, legs all crossed) we should close next week.  I just don't think I'll rest easy until it's closed.
Here's a few pictures of Bean from the last couple weeks, I know that's what people want most anyway : )

A weekend with Grandma

Ok, so I'm 99% sure I wrote this post earlier this week and have no idea where it went.

Perhaps I dreamed I wrote it but I can't seem to find it anywhere so lets take another stab at this.

Ben's grandmother has not been doing well over the past few weeks.  She's actually pretty stable at the moment, but 2 weeks ago we weren't too sure.
We decided we needed to get to Sikeston so we could get up to Perryville to see her.

Ben had to be in IL last Friday, only an hour and a half away from Sikeston, so he went from there and Mallory, Tucker and myself headed over Friday afternoon.

We went up Saturday to see Grandma Lilly, she was happy to see us, mainly happy to see Mallory, but we are used to that at this point.  We are just the caretakers of the grandchild and great grand child.

Thankfully she seemed to be doing pretty well Saturday.
Here's some pictures from the weekend:

Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus, Yipee (sarcasim here)

Sorry I didn't get this posted sooner, it's been a busy week.

Mallory is rarely sick.  In thinking back, other than a cold here or there I don't think she's been really sick since she had RSV in Feb of 2011.  So we've been lucky.

Thursday Tiff called and said Bentley went home sick and the Dr said he had Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus but they thought they caught it early.  Tiffany went through 3 containers of Lysol trying to help prevent it spreading to the others.

Friday we were back to Tiffany's but about 9:30 she sent me a text saying Lola had a fever, which is how it all starts.  So I opted to just go get Mallory and come back to the office with her until Mom got back from Clarksville and she was going to watch her Friday afternoon for me.

At this point she still acted fine.  When I went to pick her up Friday afternoon you could tell she didn't feel good, she was all snuggly and not her normal bouncing off the walls self.  We went home and her temp was up, so some motrin and snuggles in the recliner watching Nick Jr.

She NEVER cuddles, so at least I got to take full advantage of that!

Her fever got up to almost 103 Friday night, no blister/bumps yet but I got her fever back down and she and I went to sleep in our bed and waited for Ben to get home which his eta from Iowa was midnight.

By midnight her fever was low enough to not be concerning, so I moved her to her bed and then we all slept in Saturday am
.
Saturday morning and most of the afternoon she acted pretty normal even though she was still running a low grade fever with the motrin every 6-8 hours.  She had the first signs of a few blister/bumps and you could tell there must be a few in her mouth because there were a few things that seemed to bother her.

Her fever ended up spiking again to 103 Saturday night, about the same time as Friday night.  We got it back down again and then she was acting fine again.
Sunday was better, more spots but still nothing major.  Still a low grade fever but very much more herself.

By Monday we were fever free and Mom watched her in the AM while I went to work and then I stayed home with her in the afternoon.

Lola ended up with a much worse case of it and we opted to stay home another day on Tuesday.

Again Mom kept her in the am and then I went home in the afternoon.

Finally by Wednesday everyone seemed to be happy and pretty much back to normal so everyone was back to Tiffany's!

So we made it though our first day care virus!  I'm just thrilled it did not involve puke.

And Mallory's case was very minor compared to many others, so that helped as well.

Maybe if we are lucky we can go another 14 months before our next sickness!

Poor Baby not feeling well : (

Ben did manage to kill a turkey in the middle of all this Saturday afternoon late:

Mom, just let me sleep!

And in other good news, OUR HOUSE IN UTICA IS UNDER CONTRACT AS OF TODAY!!

So, everyone say a little prayer that all the inspections come out fine! We are looking at closing May 14!!

And, to close, Mallory in her wagon tonight!

It's kinda like that shopping cart picture, she's not real sure if she trusts my driving yet!
