Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus, Yipee (sarcasim here)

Sorry I didn't get this posted sooner, it's been a busy week.

Mallory is rarely sick.  In thinking back, other than a cold here or there I don't think she's been really sick since she had RSV in Feb of 2011.  So we've been lucky.

Thursday Tiff called and said Bentley went home sick and the Dr said he had Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus but they thought they caught it early.  Tiffany went through 3 containers of Lysol trying to help prevent it spreading to the others.

Friday we were back to Tiffany's but about 9:30 she sent me a text saying Lola had a fever, which is how it all starts.  So I opted to just go get Mallory and come back to the office with her until Mom got back from Clarksville and she was going to watch her Friday afternoon for me.

At this point she still acted fine.  When I went to pick her up Friday afternoon you could tell she didn't feel good, she was all snuggly and not her normal bouncing off the walls self.  We went home and her temp was up, so some motrin and snuggles in the recliner watching Nick Jr.

She NEVER cuddles, so at least I got to take full advantage of that!

Her fever got up to almost 103 Friday night, no blister/bumps yet but I got her fever back down and she and I went to sleep in our bed and waited for Ben to get home which his eta from Iowa was midnight.

By midnight her fever was low enough to not be concerning, so I moved her to her bed and then we all slept in Saturday am
.
Saturday morning and most of the afternoon she acted pretty normal even though she was still running a low grade fever with the motrin every 6-8 hours.  She had the first signs of a few blister/bumps and you could tell there must be a few in her mouth because there were a few things that seemed to bother her.

Her fever ended up spiking again to 103 Saturday night, about the same time as Friday night.  We got it back down again and then she was acting fine again.
Sunday was better, more spots but still nothing major.  Still a low grade fever but very much more herself.

By Monday we were fever free and Mom watched her in the AM while I went to work and then I stayed home with her in the afternoon.

Lola ended up with a much worse case of it and we opted to stay home another day on Tuesday.

Again Mom kept her in the am and then I went home in the afternoon.

Finally by Wednesday everyone seemed to be happy and pretty much back to normal so everyone was back to Tiffany's!

So we made it though our first day care virus!  I'm just thrilled it did not involve puke.

And Mallory's case was very minor compared to many others, so that helped as well.

Maybe if we are lucky we can go another 14 months before our next sickness!

Poor Baby not feeling well : (

Ben did manage to kill a turkey in the middle of all this Saturday afternoon late:

Mom, just let me sleep!

And playing with our soap paint!
