Family Photos & The Color Run!

I'm sure by now you've seen some of the pictures from our session with Ashton, I loved them : )

Here's all of them if you are interested:  http://mallorywernerphotosforsharing.shutterfly.com/pictures/1753

Talk about catching Mallory's essence and personality!  Some of those just scream Mallory!!

I was resigned to doing my long run on Saturday, but it worked out, Mallory and I got 8 miles in.  That's the longest I've ever pushed her.  She said "home" over and over again for the last 1.5 miles, she was ready to be done : )

It was a good run around town and I felt good afterwards.

Once we got home we got ready and headed over to Nashville to pick up our packets for the Color Run that we were doing on Sunday.  I knew it sold out quick, there's 5 of us that are doing it, but I didn't realize that it was 15,000 people sell out quick!  Here's my outfit for the run : )

We got our packet and then ran over to Opry Mills for a few things and then back home in time to watch 2016 at Mom and Dad's.  We'd all been wanting to see it and it was on Dish pay per view.

Let's just say I'm hoping, praying, fingers crossed, doing all I can to get a Romney win on Election Day.  Obama must go.  I know a lot of people don't like Romney because of what they feel are his stances on Women's rights, well my opinion is that if the country is left in Economic Ruin because of Obama then your ability to decide yourself on abortion or not is pretty minor as I feel other "women" issues are.  I mean really, I feel like our Economy should trump about anything else.  Well that and Foreign Policy which might as well be a joke right now with our current leadership.

Off my soap box.

Sunday I got up bright and early and met up with Susan and Catherine (a local friend) and we headed to Nashville, tutu's in tow : )

We then met up with Amy and Lexi, got a couple group shots and then proceeded to wait in line with the 15,000 other people to run 3.1 miles through down town Nashville and get doused with various colored powder (corn starch) along the way.

It was a blast!  Just something you do for fun, it wasn't even timed, the goal was to get as much color on you as you could at each station.  I think we did a pretty good job : )

I was doing good until at the end in the "pit" where everyone throws up the color packets they give you, it's like a cloud of dust, breathing that in made my head hurt for a few hours afterwards, but overall it was a lot of fun : )

Ben kept Bean at home for me, there were a lot of kids there but they made you pay for their "entry" into the race too, so I didn't really see the need for her to do one yet.  Maybe later.

Pumpkin Patch!

****Note, I've been trying to post this for like 2 weeks but i'm having picture uploading issues again, so if I can ever get the pictures to upload, I'll stick them in here!

Fall is my favorite time of the year!  When the shawdows get long in the afternoon and the sun just seems more golden, that's what I love.  The cooler, crisp air.  It's awesome!

I did get to go to the Dentist on Wednesday and get my permanent bridge put in.  Thankfully that wasn't painful!

I was very much looking forward to a low key weekend without anything much planned other than working on our Halloween Costumes!

Friday night we went out to eat with Susan and Nick and went to Hobby Lobby to rack up on their 50% off tulle so we could make our tutu's for the Color Run coming up on the 21st!

Mallory got in the drivers seat of the car, she looks all to happy to be there : )

Saturday we did some cleaning, we went running with Susan and then got ready to head to the Pumpkin Patch with Mom and Dad in Christian County.

It was great because it wasn't as crowded and we went late afternoon.  Mallory had a ball running around everywhere, petting the critters, picking her tiny pumpkin and playing in the corn!

Sunday I finally got go to go grocery shopping but the wind and spitting of rain had me canceling my long run for the week, I hope to get it in Wednesday afternoon now.

We got most of our costumes and tutu's made, but I've still got to put my costume together for Friday Night Halloween Bunco!

We got a few teaser pictures back from Ashton, hopefully the CD with all will be in the mail soon!

Tuesday night Ben and I went to Nashville to see Jamey Johnson at the Ryman.  It was his new album release show.  I enjoyed it, several great singers joined him, but bummed the concert was only an hour.  Here's some pictures though.

Well Crap

My dishwasher isn't working.  Probably needs a new pump/motor assembly.

Sucks.  Probably not going to spend that much more on the dishwasher.  Now to see if I can sell it on craigslist for parts or something.

You win some you lose some.  Oh well.  Moving on.

Ben's parents came to town this weekend.

I took off Friday to work on cleaning the house, catching up on laundry, do my grocery shopping and get ready for the Fall Festival on Saturday.

A cold front moved through Friday night and thankfully the rain was done by the wee hours of the morning on Saturday but it left a beautiful blue sky and about 42 degrees on Saturday morning early when we went into town to get set up.

I had a booth where I was selling raffle tickets to raise money for our St Jude's half marathon on Dec 1.  I'm selling 100 $10 tickets for a chance to win $500 on Nov 1.  I still need to sell about 50 more so if you would like 1 or 10, please just let me know : )

We got the tent set up and then I came back and got Mallory and then Ben's parents came up later once things got started.

Thankfully I own ski pants.  Not because I ever ski but because I would wear them to the Titan's games: )  So ski pants and under armor were the outfits of the day, so overall I wasn't too bad.  We bundled Mallory up good but she's so full of energy, she kept herself warm just running around.
Mallory ran Ben's parents all over the square, I sat and sold about half of my raffle tickets and thankfully it did warm up soon but it was never really "warm."  Did make for good people watching.

I just wonder what mirror some of these people look in when they leave the house, I mean really??  Oh and also, it's 52 degrees, shorts, flip flops and tee shirts should not be worn, idiots.  And then idiots dress their kids like it's still 85 degrees too, poor kids.

Crazy people rant over.

We fixed dinner and just recovered from the day Saturday night.

Sunday we went to church, had lunch, I went and ran 4 miles and then we got ready for family pictures at 5 pm.

I'm so excited to see how they turned out!  Ashton came out to the house.  We were her last session before taking off for the rest of the year as she's about to have a baby in a few weeks!

Mallory was in her typical "cheesey" state.  I think she really likes to have her picture made.  Hopefully we will see a few of initial ones here later this week.

Now to just get through the 7 mile run I have scheduled on Tuesday while pushing Mallory in the jogging stroller.  Should be interesting.....

She has a yellow elmo tablet in the tub, our water is not that dark nor did she pee in the tub that much : )

Dad made the newspaper!

Mom and Mallory on the square Thursday night listening to the music, Mallory was having a ball dancing around!

Tucker thinking he's a lap dog!

Our budding bohemian artist?

She has this one clip on ear ring that she must wear, gypsy or pirate, that's what comes to mind!

Bean and Grandpa at lunch on Sunday

Tucker is dressed for his family pictures!

Us cheesing!

Well, the dentist totally kicked my butt, er, mouth!

I'm not sure if I mentioned before but about a month ago one of my front teeth broke 2/3 off.

Lovely!

The dentist got me in the next day but there wasn't enough left to cap so a bridge would be the best option once we knew how much insurance would pay.

After much pleading he did put a temp cap thing on it do I at least looked normal and not a meth head with broken teeth.

So Wednesday morning was the scheduled day to pull that tooth and do everything to get a temp bridge and then send the permanent off to be made.

I really don't mind the dentist. He numbed me up good, tooth pulled no problem, all went well. Sent me home with a prescription for Tylenol 3 that I didn't plan on filling.

Wednesday wasn't so bad, the numbness kept me out of pain for a good while until the middle of the night when I woke up to annoying pain. Finally fumbled around and found some Advil that next morning and got to work once the pain subsided.

Still hurt to talk, so I did what i could at work till I couldn't take it anymore and got the Tylenol 3 filled.

I thought I was doing better Friday but at around 11 am it just really hit me hard and I went back home, took more medicine and did what I could but rested the rest of the time.

Ben finally got home after 5, I got Mallory and was feeling more normal so we had some dinner and crashed at like 8:30 pm!

Saturday was Hot Yoga for me since I was finally feeling better and then Bean and I headed to Scottsville area to pick up the portable dishwasher I had found in Craigslist. No more hand washing for me!!

It's in great shape, just a couple years old, and I had to order an adapter so it would fit on our sink, which should arrive today.

This is the blog that I just can't seem to finish, lol!

So the adapter came in, I couldn't get it to work so I called an appliance repairman and he arrived late afternoon. We got it to connect to the sink but something else isn't right so he's coming back Monday!

I STILL have to hand wash dishes, damnit!!!

Ben got back from Louisiana late Thursday night and Friday night we went to the Japanese steakhouse. Bean wasn't a big fan of the fire but she LOVED the food!!

Saturday was 10K day for me! I met Kristy bright and early at Novadell Golf Course in Hopkinsville.

Perfect morning for a run! It was a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, do I got some ribbon wear gear:

We were ready to get our 6.2 miles on!!

I will not give you the play by play of the race but all was going well until we realized the had the finish line at the 5.2 mile ish mark, not 6.2! This is a HUGE faux paux in the running world. You do not advertise a 10K and not give you 6.2 miles of race. Boo!

I finished 5.25 miles or roughly 8.5K in 58:37 or so, which is a great pace for me and I would have been really close to my 1:10:00 goal for the 10K.

I was pretty annoyed, now I have to try to do another 10K to actually do a 10K!!

I did win a titans blanket as a door prize which only minorly made up for the missing mile.

Saturday afternoon the Bunco girls had a private paint and sip party to paint some fall pumpkins, I thought they turned out great!!

Ben shot his bow some and them we had a lazy Saturday night.

Sunday we marked trees where the house and driveway will be so there's actually a little progress on the house front.

The forestry guy is coming tomorrow to mark the trees he think should be cut down.

Mallory napped in her chair!

My mouth is finally pretty normal feeling! Here's some other pictures:

10 Days of No Ben

It happens every year at this time, well, last year and the foreseeable future, Ben has to make the outskirts of Columbus OH his home for 10-12 days every year to set up and work the OH Farm Science Review. That's a big outdoor farm trade show.

Ben headed out on Tuesday the 11th and should be back Friday the 21st. It's also the middle of harvest this year, so he's bummed he's not getting to help dad more, but that's just how it fell this year.

Bean and I have busy while he's in Ohio.

Gymnastics on Monday
A 6 mile run together on Tuesday
I had a spa party thing on Wednesday night
We stuck around home together on Thursday night and washed dishes
Friday night we hit up Toys R Us, had dinner at Chick Fil A and I let her run around on the indoor play ground, which she LOVED!

We then went to the newer and even closer Publix that opened on Wednesday and did some grocery shopping.

Saturday we got up bright and early to meet Kristy for the Trot for the Troops 5K in Hopkinsville.

Bean had a ball, although fairly squirmy before and after the race.

I ran my fastest 5K post baby yet, while pushing the jogging stroller. Around 33:20 and Kristy was about a minute faster than my time. We had a ball!!

Saturday night we went over to Tiffany's for a dinner with some others to welcome a new family in town as she's going to have their 9 month old to watch. So that was fun!!

Sunday morning I had to get up and get packed for my trip to New Orleans for the inaugural Women in Agribusiness Summit where I got to moderate one session and then head up one of the breakout sessions.

Bean crashed with mom and dad and I left at 9 am to catch my flight.

Luckily on the shuttle to the hotel I met a few others in for the conference and we all wanted to go to Bourbon Street, but not alone!

We all piled up into a taxi and headed first to Cafe Du Monde, known for their beignets, so that was lunch. Then we walked over to Bourbon St and we walked around and I took them to Pat O'Brians for Hurricanes.

Of course there was Blue Dog stuff!

Our hotel was right across from the Superdome aka home of Drew Brees aka home of Katrina folks.

The summit was great, lots of valuable networking, great speakers and I got to do my thing as well. I really do enjoy being in front of people! It's like free advertising!

They had great swag for us! You know it's a women's conference when they give you a purse hanger as a gift!

Flew out Tuesday at lunch, just in time to go straight to Hopkinsville and pick up Tucker, drop him off and get clothes for Bean's gymnastics, get her changed and off to gymnastics.

And Wednesday am I had a lovely visit to the dentist to start the work on permanently fixing the tooth I broke 2/3 of it off about a month ago. Fun fun.

Oh, speaking of the dentist, Bean made her first trip to the dentist last week too! I somehow failed to get a picture, but she did great! All is good till she turns 3.

This was before we left for the dentist, she kept closing her eyes!!

Here's a few other pictures and we will be so glad when Ben's home!!

And, I taught Bean to say "howdee" like Minnie Pearl, although it comes out a little different:
