Fall!

Sorry for not posting this sooner, I had most of it done on Monday night or Tuesday but I was having some problems with some pictures, so I'll just add more to it!

Yay!  The temps seem to indicate fall is upon us!

We've both been running around like crazy, busy with work and Little Miss Bean continues to make good strides in Walking.  Tomorrow she will be 18 months old (OMG) and she is walking more than crawling, but she's still a speedy little crawler and does use that skill when speed is what she's going for!

This weekend was more corn harvest!  They actually finished up today, so then we move onto soybeans!  Harvest sometimes seems never-ending, but it's my favorite time of the year

Ben's spent most of Friday in the combine, so Mallory and I headed down to Elkton after work.  Quickly threw our clothes together, grabbed Tucker and headed south.

Saturday was Harvest Fest in Elkton, and although as a kid "fall festival" seemed really cool, we even had a parade, Harvest Fest is fine, but there's really not much to it.  Some mediocre crafts, other crap, a couple food vendors and some other odds and ends, but it's something to do and see.  But there's also some good photo ops at Harvest Fest, so here's a few of those:

Ben's parents rolled into town around lunch time, so we got the guys some steak sandwiches at the Harvest Fest and then took them lunch to the farm.  After that we headed to Fairview to the Mennonite Nursery and look at their pumpkins.  Here's some pictures of that:

Saturday afternoon was pretty uneventful.  We waited for the guys to get done with the corn for the day and had dinner and then we trekked back to Owensboro then Ben went down to Elkton again Sunday morning to run the combine and the rest of us went to church, out to lunch, a quick run to TJ Maxx and then Bud and Susan headed back to Sikeson.

We found this super cute dress and coat for Bean at TJ Maxx that Susan got for her for her Christmas Dress:

Friday they opened the Blue Bridge (goes across the OH river from KY to IN) for pedestrians.  It had been closed for 3 months for repairs and they finished 4 days early, so before they opened it for cars at 6:30 pm on Friday, they let people walk or bike across it from 8 am to 6 pm, so at lunch I went down to walk across it.  Great weather for it!

Sunday after Susan and Bud headed back to Sikeston, I got domestic.  Well, about as domestic as I seem to get!

Bean and I ran up to Trunnel's and got some apples and came back and made an apple pie, some broccoli and cheese soup and beer bread.  It was all pretty yummy and with my new Autumn smelling Wood Wick candle, it was very "fallish" in the house!

Since I'm so delayed in getting this posted, I'll just go on and throw in last nights adventure.  The three of us headed over to Evansville for their Fall Festival....which is basically 150 food booths that is a huge fundraiser for local things like the Animal Shelter, Fraternity's, Local Churches, Band Boosters, you name it, they are there.  And most specialize in one or two "intersting" treats.

This was Mallory's first year, too many people for her to be out last year, but she loved all the people watching and she was dancing in her stroller to all the music.

This year we had the following:

Chicken and Dumplings by one of the Lutheran churches....not sure why but Lutheran woman must posses some gene to make the best chicken and dumplings!
Puppy Chow (that chex cereal with chocolate and powdered sugar)
A combo plate of fried green tomatoes, friend green beans and fried mac and cheese
cream puffs
dippin dots
Ben got a hamburger that instead of a bun was on a Donut Bank glazed donut
corn dog
frozen chocolate banana on a stick, my fav

That's all that's coming to mind at the moment....here's some pictures of our delightful treats!
