Evaluation Results

Greetings all! It’s been a busy weekend.

Late Friday afternoon I got back Mallory’s evaluation results from Monday afternoon.

I will consider them good because we don’t qualify for any therapy, but qualify and need may be two different things.

I have no idea how they come up with the score but in Kentucky, if you score -1.5 or below in 2 areas, you qualify for Therapy or if you score -2.0 in 1 area you qualify. Here’s Bean’s scores:

Cognative -1.0

Language -0.93

Motor (fine & gross combined) -1.20

Social/Emotional +0.33 (like this is surprising, lol)

Adaptive -1.93

So it’s all very borderline. The one thing that was really just dragging her down is that she isn’t going from a sitting position on the floor to a standing position. Now she does this on the bed but hasn’t yet to actually do it on the floor. So, she is almost there.

They are going to provide me with some things that we can do that might help improve in some of these areas, but basically she just needs to stop being scared and let go and walk!

So, no therapy.

She does NOT have any problems climbing though. Earlier this past week I caught her in her bedroom, climbed up on a tub I put her clothes she’s outgrown in, and she’s sitting on top of that pulling things of the top shelf of her bookshelf. Little booger!

We went to Mom and Dad’s Friday night. Ben had a hunting expo in Nashville he wanted to attend and Stefanie and I had plans to go see “The Help” at the movies Saturday night to celebrate what we call our Anniversary. We’ve been friends since 2nd grade, so this was our 27th Anniversary!

“The Help” was great and if you haven’t read it yet, I advise getting it. It’s one of the best books I’ve read in quite a while. And the movie I thought did the book justice. It’s hard to cram such a good book into 2.5 hours of a movie, but I liked it.

Mallory, and all of us, spent a lot of time out on the deck this weekend since the weather was so amazing. She loves to play in the dirt. Here’s some pictures of her all over the deck and making a mess of the potting soil in mom’s hibiscus.

Nothing else overly exciting. We will be heading to Sikeston this weekend for the Werner Reunion on Sunday afternoon. I think Ben will be home every night this week……means I have to come up with something other than cereal for dinner……

Here’s a few other pictures from the past week. Ben and Daddy crack me up, when they work on something, they get dirty! But, I’m the same way! Combine is closer to ready to roll here in a few weeks.
