Yep, I finally registered, April 10, 2011 ready or not. But I have no excuses, I have MORE than ample time to train. And after all this hot weather this summer, I'm excited to put on the Under Armour and go run in the cold air! There's also a nifty cover for BOB that will keep the wind, rain and chill off Bean and keep her warm while we trot around.
We were back down to Mom and Dad's to finish soybean harvest, for Ben to deer hunt and for me, Mom and Susan to go eat with the dead. Yep, eat with the dead, sort of. There was a fund raiser in Elkton for the Green River Academy, which I'm not going to even try to explain but just know it's an old historic school that my cousin and recent UK Masters of Architecture grad, has taken on as his pet project. They put together a tour in the cemetery where actors/locals dressed up and acted like some of the historic figures of our town and then told us a little about their life, etc. It was really pretty neat and I hope they do it again next year....but I've always had a thing for cemeteries. Then after the tour we had a chili and pimento cheese sandwich dinner....in the cemetery! Mallory seemed to enjoy it, she slept through most as we treked across the cemetery in BOB.
As you can see from yesterday's post, Bean is quite fond of squealing and there's a video there if you missed it.
Other than that it was a pretty uneventful weekend. We spent some time outside yesterday walking around in the leaves and around the very dry ponds because of the lack of rain. She took it all in from the Bjorn carrier which she seems to enjoy.
Mom's got some pictures on her camera that I'll have to get copies of to post but here's some other photos from the weekend.
