She’s also become quite smitten with sucking her thumb. Doesn’t really care too much for a paci, but here’s a few pictures of her sucking her thumb!
We’ve introduced a few more new foods. Bananas she’s ok with, Peaches she hates for some unknown reason, and Green Beans she tolerates. We will try Peaches again later; I can’t imagine not liking Peaches!
Ben and Tucker went down to my parents Thursday afternoon to help Dad with his new wheat drill and then to help wrap up soybean harvest. I opted to have a semi relaxing Saturday morning and didn’t get down there until around 2 pm on Saturday after I ran some errands and Mallory and I slept in until almost 8:30 (which included a quick break from sleeping at 6 am for a bottle).
I did a little shopping for Mallory at Kohl’s this week. They had their Carter’s clothes on sale and I had a 20% off coupon, so I had to get this outfit, couldn’t resist!!
So once we got down to Elkton, we packed up Ben’s lunch and headed out to the field so Mallory could finally get her first ride in the combine. I strapped her in the Baby Bjorn carrier and we climbed up the ladder. I have no idea how you would safely get into a combine with a 6 month old without the Bjorn, at least I wouldn’t want to do it! Mallory seemed intrigued and Ben was proud….said he wishes it would have been a red combine instead of green, but you know……until he’s buying he’s going to have to go with Dad on that! We finished filling up the combine and then unloaded it into the truck and Bean just watched it all! Here’s some pictures, and perhaps our first “family” portrait since in the hospital. Sad, but it’s always her and Ben or me and Mallory…..so here we are standing in the soybean field, LOL!
I’ve had a hankering for Blackhorse Pub’s Vanilla Pale Ale since, well, probably since I was pregnant! It’s in Clarksville, TN and we just haven’t gotten back since having Mallory. Since I knew we wouldn’t be going there to eat for a while, Susan and I ran down there and got me “beer to go!” They don’t bottle their micro brew beer but you can buy a 64 oz growler of their beer on tap of your choice. So, I finally got my Vanilla Pale Ale fix! It’s soooooo yummy!!!
The rest of the weekend was fairly uneventful, just hanging out at Mom and Dad’s and then we headed back home to watch the last half of the Titans/Cowboys game and to fix dinner.
EDITED: I APPARENTLY HAVE NO CLUE....I HAD TO GO BACK AND REREAD MY BLOG...THEY THINK MALLORY HAS A HEART MURMUR, NOT A HOLE IN HER HEART, ALTHOUGH THAT'S COMPLETELY NORMAL TOO IN PREEMIES, SO I GUESS WE WILL KNOW MORE AFTER THURSDAY, SINCE I OBVIOUSLY CAN'T REMEMBER!! Mallory goes back to the pediatric cardiologist on Thursday to have another echocardiogram to check her heart murmur, not hole in the heart....I think, really I just don't remember. Too much was going on in the NICU, I just remember them saying it doesn't appear to be anything to worry about and that they will recheck it at 6 months, so I guess I will get re-education on what's actually going on as well. Good grief!!
Everyone have a good week!
