Mallory likes to eat, there's no questioning that! Once she finally figured out how to take a bottle in the NICU, she's been a little piggy ever since. Always wanting more than what our pedi really recommended her taking for that age.
When I called in several weeks ago to discuss her "happy spitting" they said she's probably to the point where she could take 4 - 8 oz bottles a day instead of 5 - 6-7 oz bottles a day. Works for me, fewer bottles to wash! So, I've spent the past week or so increasing her feedings per oz and over the past few days we've settled in fairly well at 8 oz every 4 hours, which gives us a nice schedule of 6:30 am, 10:30 am, 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm with bed at 8 pm. I like this schedule. Now if I could get her naps as scheduled. Typically we shoot for in between the 6:30 and 10:30 am bottle and then after the 2:30 bottle. And she is a cranky pants if she doesn't get her naps!
We've also moved to introducing apples. I don't know if I would say she LOVES them, but she has taken to them fairly well. I think they are a little tart and she makes some funny faces from time to time, but overall does well. They typically want you to wait at least 2 days after introducing a new "food" to make sure there are no reactions, so we are well past that, so next time I'm at the grocery I'll grab something else to try, perhaps squash.
I finally finished the book "Half-Baked" and will now be passing it around to other preemie moms to read on my preemie board this is like my little online preemie family. Our experiences in the NICU were minor compared to what happens in this book, but it still hits home because if Mallory had been born when I actually started leaking amnionic fluid, our story probably would have been more like this book. Her daughter was born at 25 Weeks 4 days I believe and I was leaking at 25 Weeks 6 Days. It's a good read if you have any interest in that sort of thing. And she takes a pretty comical spin on the serious, so it's not a depressing hum drum kinda book. Her daughter is a couple years old now and doing well.
Here's the link from Amazon about "Half Baked" if you are interested in learning more about it.
Our Itty Bitty will be 6 months old next week! It doesn't seem possible she is already 6 months old! She's just such a sweetie pie, and I'm afraid for Ben that she seems to be more and more like me every day....no patience and likes to try to take control. He should have his hands full!
Friday is Weigh Day for Bean in our house, and today she weighed in at: 14 Lbs 13.5 Oz!!
One last thing, there's lots of stuff Mallory does that I just love, but my favorite thing right now is when she rubs her eyes when she's sleepy. To me it's just the cutest thing watching that little hand rub her eyes. I think too because it's such a deliberate controlled thing, she's really getting good at grabbing at things and controlling her movements.
I had to finally get out her Halloween costume and try it on her....I've had it for like 2 months, so I've waited long enough!! Here's a taste of what Halloween will look like!

I had to take Mallory to work with me on Wednesday, she was my "office assistant." Although she was much help, she made for a very cute assistant! Here's a couple pictures and one where I caught her napping on the job, LOL!
.

I'm afraid I haven't been too happy with the strollometer, it just wasn't as accurate as I was hoping for, so I finally decided the best thing to do is to strap my old Garmin 101 Forerunner to the handle, and yep, works great! Here's what that set up looks like. You can probably buy one on ebay for $30-$50 now I would imagine if you wanted this set up for yourself.

Here's a few other pictures from the past week!!
